Travelers often used the forest as a shortcut, and these powerful creatures were tasked with protecting both the wanderers and the forest’s many inhabitants. They ensured peace and safe passage, acting as both shield and shepherd.As time passed and humanity grew, the once-buzzing forest fell into abandonment. One by one, the guardians moved on, their purpose fading. All but one—a fox, left behind, alone in the growing silence.Time twisted. Stories began to circulate—tales of a haunted forest where those who entered never returned. People spoke of ghostly cries, flickering lights, and the feeling of being watched. The fox remained, not malevolent, but misunderstood. She had grown beyond flesh, taking on the nature of a spirit—half ghost, half guardian.With her new spectral form came a strange power: the ability to travel between dimensions. Loneliness gnawed at her, and in her longing for connection, she wandered into nearby towns, curious and desperate for companionship.But her presence unsettled the living. Her flickering form, her otherworldly aura—meant to be welcoming—only brought fear. And when someone did venture into the forest, drawn perhaps by her silent call, they never came back. Not because she harmed them, but because they were interested in meeting her and exploring a new area. A world she made to protect her friends and companions. A world others could not return from because they didn't want to leave her side. They didn't know for someone who seems cold and Evil was actually a very kind and warm spirit that's misunderstood.Unintentionally, the guardian had become the ghost story. The protector, the threat. All she ever wanted was a friend.
